Can I get a copy of my medical record?
You have a right by law to have a copy of your medical record, which can be provided to you in electronic or paper format. iShare Medical® Messaging allows you to obtain secure access to your medical records from health care providers who follow the federal guidelines known as “Meaningful Use” rules under a criteria known as “View, Download, and Transmit”.
What kind of messages can I exchange with my doctors and medical providers?
Like normal email, an iShare Medical® message can contain many different formats. The most common are a .pdf or C-CDA (Continuum of Care document). The C-CDA is a summary of your medical record from your doctors office and can contain items such as Patient Demographics, Medications, Allergies, Lab Results, Immunization, Vital Signs, and Encounters (e.g. office visits with your doctor). A C-CDA typically would be sent from your doctor to you. iShare Medical® software provides the tools that you need to view the C-CDA document.
